Studious B is the musical project of Brian C. Taylor, a multidisciplinary artist, author of philosophy, social criticism and independent filmmaker. Brian channels his unique perspective and disciplined creative energy (he’s Cyclothymic,) into alternative pop that challenges, inspires, and deeply connects. He also writes catchy tunes that make you want to dance!

Brian is Studious B, but Studious B is also a band.

Brian’s wife Dawn has joined the band and as a Duo, the third album Plastic World was released in February of 2026

The album received some Canadian airplay and reached as high as #9 at CFBX Kamloops BC. Visit thex.ca to listen

Brian and Dawn have since been joined by bassist Fenin Howe and drummer Matthew Pord.

Studious B’s fourth and perhaps most ambitious record Colour and Light comes out November 27 2026

Colour and Light is a loud, lively and powerful time capsule of the summer of 2026 in British Columbia, Canada.

There are moments of beauty and danger, just like in Western Canada.

There are angry chastisements of our southern neighbours.

There is the continued candour of Brian’s being turned into a spectacle and Dawns reassuring voice calming him down.

Only now we aren’t sequencing computers and quantizing the results of our live playing. We’re just playing.

You can hear the threatening forest fires’ smoke in our voices.

Full album November 27 2026

Plastic World (Feb 2026) is our third album and the first to feature co-lead vocalist Dawn.

“An album trying to be synth-heavy, radio-friendly, catchy pop-songs, but with B-flaire. Duets and having two singers changes what B sounds like. Goal was to get on radio. Goal achieved in March 2026, reaching #9 on CFBX Kamloops album charts.”

Death is a Dancer (June 2025)

The second B album, is mostly Diary entries, Brian performing everything himself with the occasional guest. Yelling and guitars, but also love and beauty.

The establishment of intention and theme.

Collected Works Vol.1 (April 2025)

The “best” of the 20 first singles, recorded by Brian alone, (for the most part.)
